Directions to BATTLE of RIVER’S BRIDGE Event
(held on private property, not in State Park)

If leaving from West Ashley, go by US 17 South.
In Jacksonboro, take the right fork onto SC Highway 64 towards Walterboro.
Go about seventeen miles.
At the FIRST stoplight turn right onto the truck route.  There is also a hospital sign at this light.  This will bypass the town of Walterboro.
Go straight on this road through two stop lights and on the third stop light (Dead End) take a right.  This puts you on Highway 64.
(You will go under the I-95 overpass and about 12 miles up the road you will cross Highway 21, which is also called Bells Crossroads.)
After crossing Highway 21 Intersection, go about five miles and take the left fork on SC Highway 641.
Continue on 641 for about 6 miles until you come to the flashing light intersection of 641 and 601.
Continue straight through the light on 641 and in a short while you will see the River’s Bridge State Park signs.  The new site is just beyond the old.
Turning into the park from State Park Road, go past the old site where the original works are located.  At the end of the road take a left on Confederate Highway.
You might go a sixteenth of a mile and the entrance will be on the left.
If you miss it the first time just follow the noise.  The new site will be in easy walking distance of the old site.  Most of our reenactments have signs along the road to help direct you.

If you are leaving from the Summerville area, your best bet is to
travel on Highway 78 West to Highway 21 at Branchville,
turn left and go to Bells Crossroads and
take a right. (This may be about 20 miles before you get to the crossroads.)  This is Highway 64 West.
Then continue with directions from above.
You may also take Highway 78 and get on I-95 at St. George and exit on Highway 64 West.  They are about the same distance but maybe travel will be a little faster on the interstate.
