Civilian Camp

This year everyone one was encouraged to use the appropriate camping area. Since wives (other than visiting officer's wives) and children were rarely seen in an encampment, civilians campsites were designated in the Federal and Confederate areas. Soldiers on leave or picket duty were welcomed to stay in these areas. The addition of water spigots was a good idea.
