November 9, 10 11, 2001, Charleston, South Carolina
Battle of Secessionville at Boone Hall Plantation
Mt. Pleasant, Charleston County, SC

Fashion Commentary was led by Mary Hatcher

The audience didn't stay an audience for very long. Mary used the outfits we were wearing to point out the details that were common to most outfits of the period. At the end of the commentary, all the ladies were asked to model their clothing for photographs. Not all of them came out, but I will be happy to post any other photos sent to me. I don't know the names of many of the ladies, but will be happy to add them if you let me know. Also, I can remove any photos that you don't wish to be posted. Just contact the webmaster.

The 2nd image is a very large detail of the fabric of this blouse. It was made by attaching many kinds of ribbon and trim to a sheer backing. It was a lot of work, but the results are beautiful.

Ginger, Denise and Rose of the SCLA at the Post Office. Reenactors and spectators were invited to write letters to the soldiers, to be delivered that evening. The PSRS has a post office at many events in SC, so practice writing with a pencil or ink. You may also write the letters in advance and drop them off. If you don't know a soldier to address it to, that's okay. They sent letters to strangers to support the moral in that war too.
