The SCLA held its monthly meeting at Anne's home on James Island. Jeanne Weil led a discussion of bonnet making techniques. Members brought their bonnets, projects and questions.

This pancake hat and juliet cap were sold by sutlers but are NOT correct for our time period.

The Slat Bonnet would be more comfortable in a lighter weight fabric. There is too much puff in the green bonnet, and not enough curtain in the gray wool bonnet to keep cold wind off. The Conestoga Bonnet is collapsible.
