Page 1 - The Unknown ChildThe South Carolina Ladies Auxiliary raised money to purchase the stone for the child who was exhumed from underneath the citadel football stadium along with 22 Confederate Sailors. They were all buried in the Soldiers Ground of Magnolia Cemetery on November 1999. The VA paid for the stones of the sailors, but not the child. The dedication of this stone was part of the Confederate Memorial Day services. Thank you to the many donors who helped us purchase this stone for the Unknown Child. Heather Robinson is the young lady who assisted in this dedication. The 10th SC Volunteer Infantry furnished the Color Guard. The Snowden Chapter of the Order of Confederate Rose furnished the wreaths.
